Lohan surrenders for jail sentence

Lindsay Lohan has chosen to begin her 30-day prison sentence for parole violation.

The Mean Girls actress was ordered back to jail last Wednesday (November 2) after admitting to failing court-ordered community service stemming from her theft misdemeanour case earlier this year.

Lohan had her probation revoked for completing 360 hours of work at the American Red Cross instead of the LA Women's Centre assigned by Judge Stephanie Sautner.

According to the LA County Sheriff's Department, Lohan arrived at the Century Regional Detention Facility at 8:48 PST to begin her sentence. She had until Wednesday (November 9) to surrender herself.

Lohan was expected to serve six days of her 30 day sentence, though it is believed that the 25-year-old will be released in a matter of hours due to overcrowding, as is the standard with short-term misdemeanour convictions.
