Actress AnnaSophia Robb will play a teenage Carrie Bradshaw in the US television prequel series of Sex And The City.
The 18-year-old Soul Surfer star has landed the role, originally played by Sarah Jessica Parker , any teen actress would be desperate for in The Carrie Diaries.
It is based on Sex And The City creator Candace Bushnell's novel of the same name.
Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively was orginally rumoured to be in the frame for the part, but the film's producers decided that at 24 she is too old.
The series is to focus on how the four best girlfriends - Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte - first met in New York in the 1980s.
It has been described by The CW Television Network, on which it will be shown, as the story of a young woman who "comes of age in the 1980s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan".
In addition to last year's Soul Surfer, Robb has appeared in Race To Witch Mountain and Tim Burton's Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
