Rambo TV series in the works with Stallone targeted to reprise role.

A ‘Rambo’ TV series is currently in the pipeline with producers hoping to get Sylvester Stallone on board in some capacity.

Screen Daily report that Entertainment One have partnered with producer Avi Lerner to make the show based on the popular action franchise, which they plan to sell to TV networks around the world.

Stallone is being targeted to possibly star in the series, but it is much more likely that he will only sign on in a creative capacity.

CEO of Entertainment One Television John Morayniss said: "Rambo fans cover all demographics and we’re confident that we’ll quickly find this series a home."

Producer Lerner added: "I’m excited by the prospect of collaborating again with my good friend Sly for an encore in this next phase of the Rambo legacy."

How exactly a series would work without Sly is a mystery, but with the recent success of Showtime’s ‘Homeland’ perhaps we could see the exploits of Stallone’s mentally-scarred Vietnam war vet rebooted for the modern era.
