Mark Wahlberg takes aim at Tom Cruise soldier remarks.

Mark Wahlberg isn't generally known for keeping his opinions to himself.

As such he's taken aim at alleged remarks – now said to have been taken out of context – from Tom Cruise, suggesting that acting is akin to serving as a soldier.

In Cruise's current court case against two magazines accused of defamation, it's claimed that Cruise likened work on his last film Edge of Tomorrow (2014) to being similar to soldiers being separated from their families while fighting.

Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields has since issued a statement saying: "The assertions that Tom Cruise likened making a movie to being at war in Afghanistan is a gross distortion of the record... What Tom said, laughingly, was that sometimes, 'That's what it feels like.'"

Wahlberg, however, got the red mist at the mere possibility that any actor might compare his craft to being on the front line.

Speaking at a Q&A in Los Angeles ahead of a screening of his film 'Lone Survivor', in which he plays a Nacy SEAL, he laid out his thoughts on the matter.

"For actors to sit there and talk about, ‘Oh, I went to SEAL training’– I don’t give a f**k about what you did," he said.

"You don’t do what these guys do. You just don’t. For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as being in the military. How f**king dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours."

"I don’t give a sh*t if you’re getting your a** busted. You get to go home at the end of the day. You get to go to your hotel room. You get to order f**king chicken or steak, whatever the f**k is."

After the outburst, he asked the host of the Q&A not to ask him any more questions, while he calmed down.

He then apologised for 'losing his s**t'.

He's since denied that the comments were aimed at Cruise, a rep for Wahlberg telling TMZ: "Mark loves Tom and was in no way referencing him in his comments."
