Quentin Tarantino wants Viggo Mortensen for The Hateful Eight.

Viggo Mortensen is reportedly in talks for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.

The Lord of the Rings actor is in line for the Western movie, according to New York Daily News.

The director was said to have been seen speaking to the actor about the role of a "ruthless gang leader".

Samuel L Jackson and Kurt Russell are expected to appear in the film about a group of outlaws who take shelter in a remote saloon during a blizzard.

Jennifer Lawrence has also been rumoured to be in talks for the film.

Mortensen was most recently seen in The Two Faces of January.
