Kingsman Star Up For Playing Wolverine.

Taron Egerton, the breakout star of ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, has expressed his desire to play ‘X-Men’ icon Wolverine once Hugh Jackman retires from the role.

Egerton, 25, does have some doubts however about his own suitability to the part.

Speaking to ScreenRant, he said: "I am a huge X-Men fan! My feeling about that is… I don’t know if I’m quite grizzly enough. My facial hair is still very thin and patchy."

"I feel someone who plays Wolverine potentially needs testosterone in abundance. Yeah, I’d love to have a go at it, but I don’t know. Laughs I don’t know."

The young Brit was believed to be in the running to play a young Cyclops in next year’s 'X-Men: Apocalypse’, a role that eventually went to 'Mud’s Tye Sheridan.

"I was with Hugh the day that he announced his retirement from that role," Egerton continued, referencing the 'Eddie The Eagle’ film the pair are currently filming.

"I did joke about that very thing with him, but the phone hasn’t rang yet, my friend, so I don’t know."
