Chloe Grace Moretz will star in a live-action version of The Little Mermaid, based on the fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen.

No replacement for director Sofia Coppola, who left the film this spring citing "creative differences," has been named.

Richard Curtis is in talks to write a new version of the screenplay, as producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner attempt to revive the troubled project once more.
