Alden Ehrenreich Confirmed to Be the New Han Solo.


Alden Ehrenreich was officially announced as the new Han Solo at the Star Wars Celebration Future Filmmakers panel in London Sunday.

Ehrenreich will headline the next untitled "A Star Wars Story" film which will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller which is slated for a May 25th, 2018 release date.

Ehrenreich appeared alongside Lord and Miller appeared on the "Future Filmmakers" panel where they discussed the audition process which required 3,000 actors auditioning for the role of young Han Solo. Ehrenreich said he was the first to audition and screen tested multiple times including scenes with Chewbacca aboard the iconic Millenium Falcon.

Ehrenreich revealed: "I auditioned for about six months. The coolest part of the audition process was I went on the Millennium Falcon."

Other actors reportedly considered for the Han Solo role included Jack Reynor, Logan Lerman, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner.
