CHRISTINA RICCI won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for her starring role in Sleepy Hollow (1999). She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award, an American Comedy Award and an Independent Spirit Award as Best Actress for her work in Opposite Of Sex, The (1998) and earned a National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress for her combined efforts in Opposite Of Sex, The (1998), Buffalo '66 (1998) and Pecker (1998).
Ricci made her professional acting debut at the age of 9 in Mermaids (1990) as Chers youngest daughter and Winona Ryders sister. She then portrayed the strangely adorable Wednesday Addams in Addams Family, The (1991) and its sequel, Addams Family Values (1993). She went on to star in the surprise hit of the 1995 summer season, Casper (1995). That same year, she was honored with the prestigious NATO ShowEast Star of the Year Award and the Star of Tomorrow Award from the Motion Picture Bookers Club.
In 1997, Ricci received glowing reviews for her role as a teenager who is making her first steps towards sexual maturity in Ice Storm, The (1997).
