Biography

Thora BirchThora is still in her teens but is already an international star known for her precocious talent and unswerving taste when it comes to choosing film roles. Most recently, she attracted rave reviews for her outstanding performance in the multi-Oscar-winning international hit AMERICAN BEAUTY, for which she received a BAFTA Best Supporting Actress nomination.

The film propelled her onto the A-list and she is soon to be seen in two high-profiles films. First is the fantasy adventure DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS, alongside Jeremy Irons. Then comes Terry Zwigoff's GHOST WORLD, produced by John Malkovich's mr mudd production company, Granada Film and MGM/UA, in which she stars alongside Scarlett Johansson, Brad Renfro and Steve Buscemi.

Acting since the age of four, Birch's first major role was in PARADISE, alongside Melanie Griffith, Don Johnson and Elijah Wood. She went on to co-star as Harrison Ford and Anne Archer's daughter in the hit action thrillers PATRIOT GAMES and CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. Subsequent film credits include HOCUS POCUS, NOW AND THEN, MONKEY TROUBLE, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS and ALASKA.

On television, she has had regular roles in the series DAY BY DAY and PARENTHOOD, as well as starring in NIGHT RIDE HOME, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, THE OUTER LIMITS and DOOGIE HOWSER, MD.
