Biography

Glenne Headly has built a prestigious body of work.that includes Alan Rudolph's recent adaptation of Kurt Vormegut's Breakfast of Champions as well as Paul Mazursky's "Winchell" for HBO and Mira Nair's "My Own Country" for Showtime. Her feature film work includes roles in 2 Days in the Valley, Mr. Holland's Opus, Dick Tracy, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Nadine and Mortal Thoughts. She has worked with directors ranging from Warren Beatty to Frank Oz and Robert Benton.

On television she has garnered two Emmy nominations for work in Angelica

Huston's "Bastard Out of Carolina" and Simon Wineer's "Lonesome Dove." She has also appeared in Jim McBride's "Pronto" opposite Peter Falk, Fielder Cook's "Seize the Day" opposite Robin Williams, and Roger Spottiswoode's acclaimed "And The Band Played On" opposite Matthew Modine.

Her extensive theatre work includes many productions with the famed Steppenwolf Theatre, where she was a long-standing member, as well as productions at the Goodman Theatre, Northlight Repertory, Wisdom Bridge Theatre Company. The St. Nicholas Theatre, Academy Festival Theatre, the Apollo Theatre and the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

She has received four Joseph Jefferson awards, three Joseph Jefferson nominations and one Theatre World award for her work in the theatre. Off-Broadway she appeared in "Extremities," "The Philanthropist" and "Balm in Gilead." Her Broadway work includes "Arms and the Man" opposite Kevin Klme and Raul Julia
