Biography

ELIZABETH KARLSEN began her career in independent film in New York. She returned to London to join Palace Pictures and then became production supervisor for Scala Productions. She graduated to producing with Terence Davies' adaptation of John Kennedy Toole's THE NEON BIBLE, starring Gena Rowlands, which premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 1995. She followed it with Angela Pope's HOLLOW REED, starring Martin Donovan, Ian Hart and Joely Richardson. She teamed up with Mark Herman on the acclaimed and award-winning box office hit LITTLE VOICE, starring Jane Horrocks, Brenda Blethyn, Michael Caine and Ewan McGregor.

PURELY BELTER is the first film from her recently-launched production company Mumbo Jumbo.
