Biography

MAURY CHAYKIN hails from Brooklyn, New York. The multi-talented actor has played both lead and supporting parts in a great number of film and television productions, making him a familiar face with both American and Canadian audiences.
Chaykin starred in two of the most critically acclaimed films in recent years: the Oscar-nominated "The Sweet Hereafter," directed by Atom Egoyan, winner of seven Genie Awards; and "Whale Music," directed by Richard J. Lewis, for which he won the Genie award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.

On television, Chaykin was a regular on the popular series "Northern Lights," "Oz" and "Emily of New Moon." More recently, he played Sir Robert de Baudricourt in Christian Duguay’s miniseries "Joan of Arc" and will next be starring as Nero Wolfe in the new A&E series Nero Wolfe, with Timothy Hutton.
