Biography

Maya RudolphMAYA RUDOLPH recently joined "Saturday Night Live" as a featured performer. Rudolph's television acting credits also include starring in the TV series "City of Angels," and guest-starring roles on "Action," "Chicago Hope" and "Fired Up" as well as the telefilm "Devil To Pay." Her feature film credits include "As Good As It Gets," "Gattaca" and the upcoming "Chuck & Buck."

Born in Gainesville, Florida, Rudolph's parents moved the family to Los Angeles to continue their careers in music when Maya was one year-old. Her mother, vocalist Minnie Riperton, recorded in the 60s bands The Gems and The Rotary Connection and later went on to record solo albums with Maya's father, songwriter/producer Richard Rudolph. Together Rudolph's parents penned the hit "Lovin' You."

After graduating from UC Santa Cruz where she studied film and photography (and sang in a band), Rudolph returned to LA and immediately went on tour with maverick recording artists, The Rentals. When the tour was over, Rudolph decided to pursue a career in her first love, comedy. She quickly rose up the ranks at the famed Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, where she is currently a member of the Main Company.

"Duets" was an opportunity to combine her musical background with her interest in the world of Karaoke, and to work with her father, Richard Rudolph.

Rudolph resides in Los Angeles and New York.
