Ivano Marescotti - Details

Biography

IVANO MARESCOTTI is originally from Bagnocavallo, Italy. At
the age of 35, after working for ten years at Ravenna's City Hall in Urban Development, Marescotti decided to pursue acting.

With no prior acting experience, unbeknownst to director Patrizio Roversi, he made his theatrical debut in a show for children. During the 1980s he continued to work in theater with such European luminaries as Leo de Bernardinis, Carlo Cecchi, Mario Martone, Thierry Salomon, Armand Gatti, Santagata e Morganti, and Giorngio Gallione. Marescotti made his film debut in 1989 with Silvio Soldini in L'aria serena dell'Ovest.

His other film credits include Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley, Asini by Antonello Grimaldi, Marco Risi's Il muro di Gomma, and Roberto Benigni's Jonny Stecchino and Il Mostro, Mario and the Magicien by Klaus Maria Brandaver, and La Lingua del Santo by Carlo Mazzacurati.
