Biography

MARTHA DE LAURENTIIS started her career as an assistant auditor on the NBC mini-series The Dain Curse, soon after graduating from college. Producer Frank Marshall recognized her talents and hired her for Warriors, where she continued for two years working in production. She met Dino De Laurentiis in 1980, when she was hired as the New York production accountant on his production of Ragtime, James Cagney’s last film.

After the completion of Ragtime, De Laurentiis made her head of administration for Dino De Laurentiis Productions. Firestarter marked her arrival as an associate producer, and the experience led to producing more films such as Stephen King’s Cat’s Eye, Raw Deal, Maximum Overdrive and Bedroom Window. Together with Dino, she produced 20 films including Michael Cimino’s Desperate Hours, the critically acclaimed Bound, starring Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon, Breakdown, starring Kurt Russell and most recently U-571.

Martha married legendary film producer Dino De Laurentiis in 1990. They have two daughters, Dina and Carolyna.
