Biography

Cherry Falls marked Geoffrey Wright’s debut directorial effort in America.

Romper Stomper, which he wrote and directed, broke box office records in his native Australia. The film, which starred Russell Crowe, earned Australian Film Institute Awards for Best Actor, Best Sound, and Best Original Score (in addition to six other nominations, among them Best Film and Best Director); and the Australian Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor. The film went on to receive worldwide acclaim.

Wright also wrote and directed Metal Skin (starring Tara Morice) and Lover Boy (starring Noah Taylor).
