Biography

Jay Rabinowitz has edited four films for director Jim Jarmusch, including the recent Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Night on Earth, Dead Man, and the documentary Year of the Horse: Neil Young & Crazy Horse Live.

This renowned editor has worked both in TV on the acclaimed drama "Homicide: Life on the Street" (24 episodes including the premiere) and in music video for Tom Waits ("I Don't Wanna Grow Up" and "It's All Right with Me") and Neil Young ("Big Time"). He has also worked on a wide variety of movie projects including Robert Frank's Last Supper; Barry Levinson's Jimmy Hollywood; Lodge Kerrigan's Clean, Shaven; Keith Gordon's Mother Night; Paul Schrader's Affliction and Tony Bui's Sundance Film Festival prize-winning Three Seasons.

A graduate of New York University, Rabinowitz began his editing career by assisting avant-garde film/dance innovator Amy Greenfield on her feature-length version of Sophocles' Antigone.
