Fans in New Zealand waited hours for tickets to the first Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001) movie - then snapped up 400 in 15 minutes. The film will open in the country at one minute past midnight on 20 December (01), and fans are desperate to be the first to see THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING.
Director PETER JACKSON, a New Zealander, sued his home country's stunning scenery to create all three films in JR Tolkien 's fantasy epic, and local interest is running high. Theatre operators predict the film will outsell HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE (2001) by two to one. (NFA/WNWCCC/BRC)
