Biography

Maria BelloMARIA BELLO is most widely recognized by audiences from her role as the passionate and headstrong pediatrician Dr. Anna Del Amico. She recently starred in Touchstone Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Films' "Coyote Ugly." Previously, she co-starred with Mel Gibson in "Payback" and appeared opposite Ben Stiller and Elizabeth Hurley in "Permanent Midnight."

Bello made her television debut as a series regular, co-starring with Scott Bakula in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." She was also a series regular on "77 Sunset Strip." Guest starring roles include performances on "Misery Loves Company," "The Commish," "Nowhere Man" and "Simon."

Her extensive theatre credits include the world premiere of "The Killer Inside Me" as well as "Smart Town Gals With" at the Currican Theatre, "Big Problems" at the Theatre for New City, "Urban Planning" at the Theatre del Barrio, "A Lie of the Mind" at Columbia University, "His Pillow" and "Out of Gas on Lover's Leap" at T. Schrieber Studios, "Big Talk" at Double Image Theatre and "Talked Away" at the West End Gate.

Bello co-founded the Dream Yard Drama Project for Kids, a non-profit arts and education program for children in Harlem. Last year Bello toured Africa, continuing her studies in conjunction with this program.
Maria most recently returned from China where she was filming a special project "China: The Panda Adventure," which will be presented on the spectacular giant IMAX® screens. Based upon Ruth Harkness' autobiography Lady and the Panda, the film will be released in spring, 2001
