Biography

James MarsdenMarsden starred in the thriller Disturbing Behavior (1998), with Nick Stahl and Katie Holmes; opposite Norman Reedus and Kate Hudson in Davis Guggenheim’s Gossip (2000); and in the upcoming comedy Sugar & Spice (2001), with Mena Suvari and Marley Shelton, directed by Francine McDougall, and produced by Wendy Finerman.
The Oklahoma native discovered his natural acting talent after his mother convinced him to enroll in a 10th grade drama class. The spotlight seemed to agree with him, and it wasn’t long before Marsden was not only starring in several high school productions, including Bye, Bye Birdie, but modeling and acting as student anchorman on the local network morning news program as well.

A brief stint at Oklahoma State University led to more productions, and confirmed Marsden’s ambition to pursue acting as a career. He packed his car, headed to Los Angeles and, within two months, began working steadily on various television projects.

His notable television credits include starring roles in the highly rated miniseries Bella Mafia and the family-oriented television drama Second Noah. Marsden also originated the role of Griffin on the hit series Party of Five.
