Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas and Rachel Zegler join Paddington 3.

Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, and Rachel Zegler have joined the cast of 'Paddington in Peru'.

The third installment of the beloved franchise will find Paddington “returning to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. Paddington and the Brown Family embark on an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.” Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris, and Samuel Joslin are all returning for the sequel, as well as Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton as the voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy, respectively.

Hugh Bonneville, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin are slated to return as Henry, Judy and Jonathan Brown, respectively. However, Sally Hawkins will not be reprising her performance as Mary Brown, with Emily Mortimer taking over the role. "For me, it has felt the right time to hand the reins over to another," Hawkins explained. "And one can't get much better than the truly wonderful Emily Mortimer, she is extraordinarily special. She will embody the essence of Mary Brown and yet make it utterly her own." Additionally, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent are expected to return as Mrs. Bird and Samuel Gruber.

Based on the long-running children's book series, the first Paddington movie was directed by Paul King and released in 2014. King returned for a sequel in 2017, which broke Rotten Tomatoes' record for the most-reviewed movie with a 100% approval rating, beating out Toy Story 2. He will not return to direct Paddington in Peru due to his commitment to directing Wonka but will stay on as an executive producer and story writer.
