'Gorgeous' GEORGE CLOONEY has been axed as BATMAN - because he's too handsome.

The O, BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? star has been replaced as the comic book character in the hit film series by KURT RUSSELL -because producers feel his face is more "adaptable".

A WARNER BROS executive explains, "George is a brilliant actor, but is unsuited to the new-style superhero we need. He's too good looking. "The two new films are going to be a lot more grittier and more adult. We had to find someone whose features we could mask and mould over four decades.
