Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn along with Regina Hall are all set to star in director Paul Thomas Anderson's next film.

The movie's title has not been revealed yet, and details about the plot are being kept confidential. However, it is known to be set in modern times and is considered the most mainstream project Anderson has undertaken to date, featuring a budget appropriate to both the scope of the film and the cast he is looking to add.

DiCaprio recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, while Penn appeared in the medical drama Black Flies. Anderson’s last full-length feature was 2021’s Licorice Pizza, and he also teamed up with The Smile for Wall of Eyes, On Film, a cinematic event premiering later this month.

This will mark the second film that Sean and Paul have worked on together, following the 2022 feature Licorice Pizza, which was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay for Paul.

Though Anderson's films are frequently acclaimed by critics and cinephiles, they tend to struggle at the box office, with many of them failing to recoup their budgets. By taking a more "commercial" approach, while still maintaining his signature style, Anderson's upcoming collaboration with DiCaprio could produce the director's biggest movie yet.
